10 Things to Do This Summer

It’s summertime, and sometimes it takes a little bit of effort to ensure everyone is enjoying themselves. We’ve gathered some simple pleasures to help you and your family take advantage of the great weather and time off school.

  1. Set up a lemonade stand
    Lemonade on hot summer days are a natural fit, and what could be more fun than setting up a Lemonade Stand together and allowing your child to make some extra cash?   2. Go fishing
    Your child’s squeal of delight when they catch their first fish is a time no parent should miss. Fishing is a rewarding sport of fresh air, learning about the environment, and the development of patience. Check out Have Fun Fishing with your Preschooler for more inspiration.
  3. Go berry picking
    Blueberries, strawberries and raspberries are all tasty and healthy treats. Bring lots home for later and let the kids eat as they pick – that’s what summer's all about.
  4. Make a summer scrapbook
    Preserve special summertime memories by creating a scrapbook that will be treasured for years to come. You don’t need to fuss. Take pictures, save tickets, flyers, restaurant placemats and any other paraphernalia you pick up along the way.   5. Have a picnic at a nearby park

  6. Play in a sandbox
    Children and adults alike can have hours of fun playing in a sandbox. Encourage your child’s imagination by creating castles, towns, and theme parks. If you don’t own a sandbox, consider building your own by following these simple instructions.
