Baby’s Footprint Ornament |
This little craft is a great way for baby to give something to the grandparents that they’ll hold onto for years to come! Older kids can use cookie cutters or handprints to make ornaments in the same way. Making ornaments every year can become a family tradition as the kids grow.
Supplies:
• Homemade play-dough (see recipe below) or modeling clay (air-dry or baked)
• Small piece of cardboard
• Toothpick
• Craft paints
Directions:
Make footprint ornament cutting template by tracing your baby’s shoe onto small piece of cardboard. Make play-dough according to recipe. Roll out the dough and cut shoe shapes using template. Place shapes on greased baking sheet, prick any air pockets, and carefully ‘stamp’ baby’s foot into each ornament. Make a hanging hole in each ornament, using toothpick. Bake at 350 degrees for ½ hour to 3 hours, depending on thickness. Let cool. Decorate ornaments with paints, decorating supplies. Let dry. Hang with wire or ribbon.
