USA Today reports that 60% of pregnant couples will take a babymoon this year. Babymoons are not a new phenomenon; just ask your parents and grandparents, chances are they took a babymoon as well. There’s one big difference, our generation wants to be pampered before the pampers.

My husband and I were married for about four years before we decided to start a family. And when we succeeded, I wanted to exploit - I mean enjoy- every moment of being pregnant. Looking back, I got a whole new wardrobe, any food at any time, and trips to the spa were only a whine and groan away. Wow, what a life.

When I was in my 6th month, I read about babymoons in a popular pregnancy magazine. I had never heard of the "last fling vacation" but loved the idea. I was feeling great and ready to go anywhere and do anything. The article I read listed three absolutely fabulous five star babymoons that were perfect for whoever could afford them – “whoever” was just not us.

I tried every search engine looking for more packages, but didn't come up with much. In response to dangerous hormone levels, I started my own site hoping to put together all kinds of travel packages for soon to be yummy mummies that fit every wallet. In the beginning, I spent countless hours searching for destinations and packages, but now, hotels, resorts, spas, and inns are contacting me. On a budget? I suggest creating your own babymoon if you can't find the perfect fit. At the time we were planning our babymoon, I was 8 months pregnant and wasn't up for flying. We drove to the coast and created our own special package of spa treatments, trips to the beach, our favorite restaurants, and he even got a few rounds of golf. Whatever you choose to do, please do something! Don't squander your last chance to stay in bed all day, eat 24/7, and get a massage all at one time.
