March is Dietitians of Canada’s National Nutrition Month when thousands of registered dietitians across the country are encouraging adults and teens to make healthy food choices to support their active lifestyles under the theme “Stay active. Eat like a Champion.”

Canadians can get a head start on fuelling their bodies for active living on Dietitians of Canada’s Nutrition Month website at www.dietitians.ca/eatwell where they will find a wealth of healthy eating tips, practical food solutions, and fun and interactive tools including:

  • Fuelling Fitness – Common Myths Busted a new fact sheet that dispels common misconceptions about nutrition for active living
  • Eating Well for your Active Lifestyle a new fact sheet that provides practical nutritional advice for a variety of everyday fitness scenarios
  • EATracker provides a personalized assessment of your food intake based on your age, gender, and activity level.
  • Let’s Make A Meal helps you choose a day’s worth of meals and compares your choices against the servings recommended by Eating Well with Canada’s Food Guide.
  • Recipe Analyzer allows you to input your favourite recipes and get instant feedback on nutritional content and as well as suggestions to make them healthier by substituting alternative ingredients that lower the caloric, fat or sugar content.
