Can I catch H1N1 more than once?

If I’ve had H1N1, am I now immune or could I be susceptible to the second wave they predict is yet to come?

What we’re presently in is called the second wave. The first wave was the first time that Canada experienced H1N1 in the spring. If you’ve had the H1N1 infection, and you have a normal immune system, you should be immune to this in future. But it’s important to remember that there will be other flu stains, which is why it is important to also get the regular seasonal flu vaccine.

Do you know when the seasonal flu shot will be available?

It is available now. Depending on the individual provinces’ health plans, they’re either giving it now or are planning to give it soon.
