What brought you to CPO, or how did you find us?

 
I am a 32 year old single mom of one.  In September 2006, I had the unfortunate experience of my first miscarriage.  Desperate for answers and desperate to speak with anyone who shared my thoughts and feelings, I stumbled upon CPO.  I quickly learned what a wonderful community  CPO is and how supportive the other members were.  These individuals were non-judgemental, caring, supportive and in essence, became my new "virtual" family.

Any favorite Boards?

 
I have enjoyed spending time reading through the many boards on CPO, however, I tend to spend a great deal of time in the Single Parents, Breastfeeding Support, Pregnancy & Childbirth, Birth Clubs and Pregnancy Loss boards.  As having recently having had a (premature) baby, and having time off for leave, I am  getting to see much more of what CPO has to offer, the boards and the parents on CPO, once again realizing how supportive everyone here is.

What are your hobbies and interests?

 
If anyone has has the chance to get to know me, they would clearly be able to define me as a shutterbug.  I abosolutely love photography.  I am by no means a professional, but  love to take (hundreds) of pictures of literally everything.  I already feel sorry for my little girl who has her own mommy as her personal paparazzi!  Other than my baby, I love to snap pictures of nature and wildlife.

How many children do you have and if you're comfortable sharing a name?

 
I have one sweet and precious little miracle baby.   Her name is Kaytlyn.

Maybe a little something about your parenting style or parenting  philosophy...

 
Being a new mom, I am still nestling into my own parenting style.  First and foremost,  I promise to place the needs of my child in front of my own at all times.   When she's older, I promise to listen to her needs and wants.  As a single parent, I do also want to work with my child's father to co-ordinate parenting styles so not to confuse my baby as she grows.   I want to be a positive role model in her life and will do what I can to help guide her.  I want her to be able to experiment and try things, and learn from her mistakes (with my input first of course and within reason).  Essentially, I will try not to be overly strict.

 

What are you most looking forward to this Summer?

 
This summer, I am most looking forward to spending time with my newborn, taking my camera out and snapping some photos, as well as re-connecting with friends and family.

Is there anything else that you'd like to share about why you like CPO...

 

CPO has given me the opportunity to break out of my shell and open up to others through the online message boards. I have made some great aquaintances (some of whom I hope ot meet at a suggested Ontario Regional  picnic!).   What a great way to make new friends,  get great information and learn from shared experiences!
