What brought you to CPO, or how did you find us?

 I found CPO when I was doing a random search on single parent support groups. I found NOTHING locally, but it turns out that didn't matter. I received more support from CPO than I ever could have received from a support group!  I still remember finding the site on the day before New Year's Eve and then spending most of New Year's Eve reading, reading and reading more... discovering there were a lot more people just like me!

 Any favourite Boards?

The Single Parents Board is where my heart was for a long time, but recently Blended Families is the best place for me. I still check back on Single Parents daily... a part of me will always belong there.  I also love checking out the Regional Clubs and the Education & Learning board. There are a lot of boards that I do frequent when I'm looking for an answer to a question, or if a friend posts there and I go in to check it out.

What are your hobbies and interests?

 I'm a bit of a computer geek. (And I say that in a good way! LOL) I love reading and music. Taking pictures is a great pastime.  In the summer we spend most of our time out and about at local parks, beaches, traveling and camping. With two very busy boys it seems pretty darn hard to keep up many more interests than that!

How many children do you have?

 I have two boys, ages 9.5 and 5.   I have two very different kids that keep me hopping. One who is sensitive and quiet and one who is rough and tumble!

Tell us about your parenting philosophy...

 I am so careful to make sure that the kids have the happiest childhood I can create. I'm dead set that they will not be "scarred for life" from the breakup of their parents.  I've learned that you truthfully can't sweat the small stuff.  That staying positive and listening to your kids really makes a huge difference. And that different family styles aren't necessarily bad.... They are just different.

What are you most looking forward to this Holiday Season?

 Christmas Eve is by far my favourite day of the year. The decorations, the smells, the traditions. Going to church and coming home to open "just one" present... sharing the night with family and friends laughing and playing games.  Making sure everything is just right for Christmas Morning... It's just amazing. :)  This year we get to share our first Christmas with my SO (Significant Other). It's so neat to see how the kids and him have bonded, how we all have as a family.  This might be the most perfect Christmas Eve/Morning yet!

Is there anything else you'd like to share with the CPO Community?

 When I found CPO I was a very different person than I am today. I was angry, sad and trying to find my feet as a single mom.  The wonderful people here at CPO are honestly responsible for getting me to a happy place. For helping me to become a single mother who was able to parent her kids and not focus on all the negativity.  The people who made the biggest difference are those who told me what I NEEDED to hear, not necessarily what I WANTED to hear.  And I will forever be eternally grateful to all of those who read and replied and showed support, honestly and understanding in my many, many, many, many, many posts! LOL
