What brought you to CPO, or how did you find us?

3 years ago I was a pretty new SAHM with 2 kids under 2.  My oldest was 6, and it had been a while since I had to deal with babies, let alone 2.  I decided that I may need some help, not to mention adult interaction :).  I don't even remember what I googled, but here popped up this web site that was Canadian based, and I was hooked from there!

Any favorite Boards? 

My favorite boards would have to be General, Large Families, the Nova Scotia Regional board and the Cooking, Recipes & Mealtime board.  I also like Frugal Living, Focus on Mom and News and Views.  I lurk a lot on all of the other boards, but I usually don't have too much to post about.

 What are your hobbies and interests?

My hobbies would include baking, making crafts with the kids, and reading (I swear I could open a used book store with all the books we have around the house LOL).  I tried scrapbooking, but I'm just not creative enough for it, although I really enjoyed doing it!  Maybe it will be something I will get more into as the kids get older, and I can do it with them.  I'm planning on taking the Wilton's cake decorating course in the near future, and expanding on my love of baking!

How many children do you have and if you're comfortable sharing a name?

I have 3 daughters.  Madeline is the oldest at 10.  She's a typical pre-teen and is putting DH and I through all the hoops and obstacles that they do.  Life is definitely interesting with her!  Mary is my middle daughter and she's 4.  We're trying to get her ready to start school in September, and after a little apprehension and upset, she seems to be getting more and more excited as time gets closer.  Meanwhile, I think I'm getting more and more sad as the time gets closer LOL.  Charlotte, my baby, is 3.  The temper tantrums and the three year old attitude is slowly dying, and life is getting much easier (at least until the next hurdle).

Do you have a particular parenting style or parenting  philosophy? 

I don't think I have a particular parenting style or philosophy.  My favorite saying is don't sweat the small stuff, and pick your battles. We do whatever works for us at the time.  We like to consider ourselves to be laid back and easy going. All of our children have different personalities, and know that we have to deal with them differently.  We take one day at a time, and deal with things as they come up.

What are you most looking forward to this coming Spring?

I love the Spring.  I think that's my favorite time of year.  I always look forward to working in the gardens, being able to go outside without bundling up, and watching the new leaves on the trees.  Spring for me, is almost like a new beginning.  Spring cleaning, yard sales and nice drives in the sunshine are all things that I look forward to!

Is there anything else that you'd like to share about why you like CPO...

I love CPO.  I love the community feeling.  I love the people that I've met on line and IRL.  I've made some of my best friends on CPO.  My kids have friends that they otherwise wouldn't have, and CPO has taught me sooo many things.  I love that everybody is accepting of others opinions, and that someone is always there when you need them.  It's a huge support system, and for the past 3 years, I've learned, grown and developed into the mom that I love being.  Thanks to all the members and Community leaders for making this experience a great one!
