FIRST First Day Photo Tips |
Because there's only one FIRST Day!
The first day of school is the beginning of an exciting journey for our children, especially when the first day of school is truly a FIRST! The weeks leading up to the first day are exciting and well worth some extra special first day photos. If your little one is heading off to school for the FIRST time – get your camera out and start snapping. Here are some FIRST DAY photo tips to help you get started…Back to School Shopping
Consider taking your camera on your school shopping supply trip. Capture photos of your child looking at supplies, trying on backpacks and picking out clothes. When you settle on a “first day” outfit take pictures! Don’t forget the shoes!Anticipation
If you live close to the school grab your camera and capture your little one peeking through the window or playing on the playground. If a “visit” is planned prior to the first day ask the teacher if you can get a photo of your child with her. That first day will be busy and you may not have an opportunity. Be creative – snap a few pictures of your child interacting with the teacher: standing at the desk, sitting at a table or playing with toys. The Big Day
Document the “FIRST” day by doing a day in the life series of photos: Getting out of bed, the first day outfit, breakfast and heading out the door – or onto the bus. If you can - get a few snaps at the school in the playground before the bell and another couple of your child as they enter the class and hang up their bags. If your child has friends in his or her class gather them together before they head into the classroom. Don’t forget to snap some more at the end of the day when you pick your child up or get them at the bus stop.If your child is like most – a final snap of them sleeping after a tiring day will round out your “First Day Photo Shoot!”
