How to Make Tissue Paper Peonies |
These faux flowers are as pretty as the real thing
While tulips have started to push their way up through the ground, it will be a little while yet before gardens are bursting with blooms. You may have to add a few spots of colour of your own. Our resident DIY-er Catherine Romano had this great idea for tissue paper flowers that are both easy and elegant.
Materials:
- Tissue paper
- Pipe cleaner (string, yarn, or even twist-ties can work just as well)
- Scissors
Steps:
1. Layer 4-6 sheets of tissue paper in to a neat pile.
2. Make an accordian fold with the tissue paper.
3. Wrap a pipe cleaner around centre of the folded tissue paper.
4. Gently pull open the accordian fold and pull each layer of tissue paper up towards centre pipe cleaner.
5. Once all layers are pulled up, tweak the shape of your flower.
