If I have H1N1 how can I protect my kids?

How can a parent who has H1N1 prevent it from spreading to their baby or child?

Most influenza viruses pass from person to person because of hand contact, so use standard precautions such as washing your hands after you’ve touched your mouth and making sure you cough into your sleeve if tissue is not available. If at all possible, during the acute phase of illness when a parent feels particularly ill, they should try to limit their direct contact with the infant. It is also important for others in the household to be immunized as early as possible.
