Is my newborn protected from H1N1 if I'm breastfeeding?

Will I pass along the antibodies to my newborn while nursing?

The antibodies are not well passed in breastmilk. If you were unable to get the vaccine while pregnant, the emphasis should then be to create a shelter around the newborn. Caregivers of infants need to be immunized and protect and minimize the amount of exposure they have to anyone who might have influenza. And minimize the contact the infant has with people who are not vaccinated.
