Is the mercury in the vaccine safe?

I have heard that the mercury levels in the H1N1 vaccine are very high and could potentially be a risk for causing autism. Is this true?

No, that’s not true. The H1N1 vaccine that’s given in single doses does not contain any mercury at all. The H1N1 vaccine that’s made from multiple dosing has a small amount of mercury in it. The mercury is a very low concentration (probably equivalent to the amount of mercury eating a can of tuna) and not the kind of formulation that’s been associated with any ill or toxic effects. The question of mercury in vaccines has been exhaustively studied for the past 10 to 15 years and the conclusion from all of these scientific studies has been that there is no evidence to suggest that any of the vaccines with trace amounts of mercury are associated with autism.
