Resources for Parents and Children Who Bed Wet

Bedwetting beyond a certain age can be physically and emotional stressful for both children and their parents. Fortunately, there are a number of resources available to them - in the form of internet sites, books, professionals and even camps.

The following is a list of some internet resources where you will find lots of helpful information as well as names of books and links to related sites

This site is designed for kids, teens and parents and offers a variety of information related to children's health. For more information on bedwetting for example, type "bedwetting" in the box designed to enter a keyword on the top left hand corner of their home page. Their section on bedwetting offers children, teens and parents support and information. Some categories include "my body," "dealing with feelings" and "Word! A glossary of medical terms."

This site which caters to children, youth and women's health issues has a parenting and child's health section, a kid's health section written for kids, a teens health section and a young adults health section. Parents who want more information on bedwetting, click onto the parenting and child's health section and type in "bedwetting." Articles answer questions about why bedwetting happens, describes what some children have said about bedwetting (in the kid's health section) and deals with sleepovers and camp. As well as children finding the kids health section helpful to read themselves, parents will also get greater insight into bedwetting.

This site offers an extensive amount of information on a multitude of different topics (in many different languages). To obtain more information on bedwetting type in "bedwetting" in the box that appears on their home page. Articles include information on causes and treatments including different types of bedwetting alarms, when to start and tips for using a bedwetting alarm. It also offers links to other bedwetting sites.

This site offers both information on bedwetting as well as information on products and how to order them. Products range from books and stain removers to devices such as bedwetting alarm systems and starter kits.

This site offers a variety of medical information including information from the American Academy of Family Physicians on bedwetting.

Camp Kirk was established in 1993 and is located near Kirkfield, Ontario. It is a residential, overnight camp for children with Learning Disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorders and for children with bedwetting difficulties. It caters to children aged 6-13.

This site, as the name suggests, offers tips of all sorts. Their bedwetting section offers a great deal of handy tips as well as links to many other bedwetting sites.
