Scheduling Your Laundry: Choose what Works for You! |
Three routines, three choices...
Meet Sara, Jane, and Nancy. What do these three ladies have in common? They’re all moms, with two or more children, and they have all discovered a laundry routine that works for them. Each routine is different, so pick the one that fits your lifestyle best, and make it work for you!Sara: One Designated Day
Sara and her partner Mike are the parents of two babies – a six month old and a 22 month old. She designates one day a week for laundry – Sunday is the day for now, due to her work schedule but it is open to change as her jobs vary. She wouldn’t have it any other way. She completes the entire task in one day (Mike folds), checks it off the list, and carries on with her week, without giving another thought to laundry!Jane: Scattered Days
With three school aged children and her husband Mark to build laundry piles, each member of this household has their own laundry basket in their respective bedrooms. Being a fairly laid back person, she works away at the laundry whenever someone brings down their basket. Some days she may do up to four loads, some days none, but in the end, it all gets done. She folds clothes directly into designated piles, and each child is responsible for picking up their pile and putting it away.Nancy: Every Day
Nancy, a single mom of three – Bill 6, Bree 4, and Bobby 3, does at least one load of laundry every single day of life! No matter how big or small the load, she swears by this system! She uses one laundry hamper for everyone located in the bathroom. The hamper is divided in 3 – whites, brights and darks, and her little ones are well on their way to knowing how to sort their soiled clothes. On her way out the door in the morning her machine is humming away and ready to be dried whenever she returns. Every evening she folds, but since it’s always only small amounts, the task moves along quickly!
