Make back-to-school shopping easy with this handy checklist.

Shopping early for back-to-school supplies gives you a head start and a chance to look for bargains. If you don't already have a list from your child's school our list will get you started.

Keep in mind that notebooks, binders and other specialty items are not included on this list as requirements vary for each grade, school, and teacher.

• Large pencils and grips - kids may go through two per month
• Safety scissors
• Erasers
• Glue sticks or white glue
• Pencil sharpener with two sizes
• Metric ruler
• Pre-sharpened pencil crayons
• Twistable crayons
• Washable markers
• Pencil case or pencil box
• Box of facial tissue
• Bottle of hand sanitizer
• Backpack - large enough to hold homework and lunch
• Lunch bag
• Earphones - to use with the classroom computer
• 2-3 Ziploc bags - to keep in backpack
• Permanent marker - to label supplies
• Indoor shoes
• 1 spare set of clothing
