The H1N1 in combination with other vaccines |
My son just received his routine one-year MMR and chicken pox vaccinations this week. If we decide to give him the H1N1 vaccine, when would be an appropriate time to do so without overwhelming his immune system?
There is no real danger with getting the H1N1 vaccine after Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR). However, in order to get the maximum benefit of the vaccine I would recommend waiting for two weeks after receiving a live-virus vaccine such as the MMR or chickenpox because they won’t respond as briskly as they normally would. All of the other vaccines children receive you wouldn’t have this concern.
