Slow Cooking

  • Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

    Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

My kids rave about this spaghetti sauce, and they know I use a secret ingredient (other than love)! It's a touch of brown sugar, which helps to smooth out the flavours and mellow the acidity of the tomatoes.

  • Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

    Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

This is a favourite old stand-by in our house. Flavours from the roast and other ingredients combine to make a delcious gravy as it cooks in your slow cooker. I serve this with mashed potatoes and it really hits the spot!

  • Crockpot Oatmeal

    Crockpot Oatmeal

My kids really like this version of oatmeal - it is easy for me and makes mornings run a little more smoothly. During the holidays I add cranberries to the mixture for a festive flavour.

  • Crockpot Beef & Noodles

    Crockpot Beef & Noodles

I am a working Mom, so I need recipes that when I come home, I can just serve. Thanks.

  • Crockpot Pasta

    Crockpot Pasta

This is an excellent recipe if you like garlic. And it is great for working people as it really only takes as long as it take to fry up bacon. Enjoy.

  • Crockpot Chicken Soup

    Crockpot Chicken Soup

With all the flu bugs and stuff, I thought a quick and easy chicken soup recipe would be good. I have been using it because I have a new baby and getting supper on the table quickly sometimes can be hard. I love the crockpot because you can put things in when you first get up in the morning and they cook all day. The house smells just YUMMY! I also use turkey in this recipe too.

  • Crockpot Beef Stew

    Crockpot Beef Stew

This is a simple, delicious meal to make first thing in the morning and it's ready at suppertime!

  • Crock-Pot Bolognaise on Spaghetti Squash and Peas

Crock-Pot Bolognaise on Spaghetti Squash and Peas

I think it looks amazing when you serve this meal in the shell. A family can put the sauce in one half and squash in the other half. For a romantic dinner for two, use the shells as a plate!

  • Christmas Morning French Toast

    Christmas Morning French Toast

This is our traditional Christmas morning breakfast. I like this recipe because most of the work is done the night before. I cook a large peameal bacon roast overnight in the crockpot and let it rest while the french toast is cooking. It slices up nicely. We serve this recipe with berries, either fresh or frozen with hot maple syrup (the real stuff!).

  • Brunch Bake

    Brunch Bake

We do a brunch every Christmas morning, as everyone is too excited when they first wake up to sit down and have breakfast. It's a combination of breakfast foods and some appetizers and lunch dishes. I've been making for a few years I have used both sausage and ham. It works well in the crockpot too and like most recipes, you can substitute ingredients to the taste of your family!

  • Crockpot Chicken Tortilla Soup

    Crockpot Chicken Tortilla Soup

This is a recipe that has very little prep and so easy to make. We especially like the Hint of Lime Tortilla Chips!

  • Blueberry Steamed Pudding

    Blueberry Steamed Pudding

This slow cook recipe is packed with flavour.

  • Slow Cook Stew

    Slow Cook Stew

This is one of my favourite recipes when I am busy and on the go, and it is winter. This goes wonderfully with homemade bread, and you can control how thick you like it by the amount of water you add. Enjoy!

  • Slow Cook Barbecue Chicken or Ribs

Slow Cook Barbecue Chicken or Ribs

This sounds too easy but it is very good.
