The Great Canadian Cookout

  • S'more S'mores!

While camping a few weeks ago I bought a neat little product called a Smorstix. On the back of the wrapper were a few alternatives recipes to the "traditional" S'mores Recipe we all know and love!

  • Chicken Foil Pockets

We make this recipe everytime we go camping.  I almost always prepare the packages before we leave and pack them in a cooler.  We have a meal ready to cook when we arrive at our camp site and get our fire going.  It is easy to make on site as well.

  • Campfire Tacos

Tacos are a hit with most kids.  Cook your meat ahead of time and enjoy this quick camp meal.

  • Campfire Bannock

My daughter learned how to cook bannock while on a field trip.  This is easy to make and great for the back yard or while camping.

  • Campfire Fish

We made this fish recipe when I was a kid and now that I have a family I enjoy it just as much, if not more.

  • Vegetable Stew

This vegetable stew serves 4 and takes just under 1 hour to make if cooking over a campfire.

  • Salmon Teriyaki

This is a great recipe for a camp cookout. To make this recipe easier, pickup frozen individually packed salmon.

  • Old-Fashioned, Really Grilled Ham & Cheese

Grilled cheese never tasted better! Grill up a platter of these sandwiches for a quick weeknight dinner. If you're planning a tailgate party prep the sandwiches the night before; wrap and refrigerate and you'll be ready to go!

  • Tumble Basket Chicken Thighs

Move over chicken wings. These tasty thighs are tumbled to perfection with Wasabi Teriyaki Glaze. Perfect timing for the grilling season!

  • Plank-Smoked Chocolate Brownies

Brownie fans will love this outdoor version of their favourite snack.  A few simple ingredients and you will be a hit at your next outdoor gathering.

  • BBQ Ribs

Here is my favourite Valentine's Day recipe. It's my favourite because my fiancee Tim loves ribs and the way to his heart is through his stomach. I think that's the same for a lot of men.

  • Excellent Barbeque Sauce

I had to send in this recipe because I just used it this past weekend on some most excellent spare ribs. My 3-1/2 year old was inhaling ribs as fast as we would let him. He announced that I was the "bestest sauce making girl he ever knew!" So it **must** be a good recipe!

  • North Carolina BBQ Chicken Sauce

The flavour of the sauce soaks into the chicken and the result is perfect chicken everytime!

  • Campfire S'mores

This is our favourite summer treat. We keep a plastic container filled with supplies so we can make them anytime.

  • Campfire Skillet Dinner

I pre-cut my chicken and ingredients before we leave and keep everything stored in ziplock bags in the cooler.  We make this dinner our first night at camp because we can get unpacked and settled while it cooks.
