The Great Canadian Cookout

  • Campfire Skillet Dinner

I pre-cut my chicken and ingredients before we leave and keep everything stored in ziplock bags in the cooler.  We make this dinner our first night at camp because we can get unpacked and settled while it cooks.

  • Campfire Muffins

You will be surprised at how fun it is to make muffins when you are camping. Make extras for snacking!

  • Campfire Bananas

I remember making this dessert when I was in Girl Guides.  It is a really easy and very tasty camp treat.

  • Campfire Beans

Our kids saw an old movie where the cowboys were eating beans from a can and decided it would be fun to have beans on our last camping trip.  We didn't cook the beans in the can but we enjoyed our own variation in a big cast iron pot.

  • Campfire Baked Apples

Baked apples are great at home and amazing when cooked over hot coals.  Try these if you are out camping.

  • Campfire Stick Hotdogs

This is a fun way to make hotdogs when you are camping.  We have mixed the dough in a ziplock bag to make cleanup easy.  The kids will love them.

  • Campfire Popcorn

We had a campfire popcorn popper when we were kids but I haven't been able to find one.  We use heavy duty foil and it works everytime.  You will need one package per person.

  • S'mores

A campfire wouldn't be a campfire without these!

  • Southwestern Pork Chops

Heat up the barbeque we're cooking up some chops!

  • Campfire Pizza

This pizza is fun to make but you have to watch it doesn't burn.  You can also make this on your BBQ using indirect heat, like an oven.

  • Crock Pot BBQ Ribs

These ribs are easy to prepare and fall off the bone delicious! Just fix and forget!
