About Peter Massiah, (BA, MA)
Peter holds a BA in Geography and an MA in Education from Simon Fraser University. An educator for more than twenty-five years he has taught Geography, History and Psychology to high school students and curriculum and methodology courses at the university level. He is a co-author, editor and contributing consultant for several successful textbooks in History, Geography, and Economics. Along with colleagues in his school district, he developed extensive curriculum materials in the field of Social Studies. A freelance writer, he has articles published in professional journals and has presented workshops to educators throughout British Columbia. Peter has been a Vice-Principal since 1989. Most of his work has been in large, grades 8 to 12, multicultural, suburban, 'been there done that', high schools. He enjoys most of the many aspects of his job, especially keeping kids safe and comfortable so they can learn. Peter believes Vice Principals are in unique positions in the education system. They are positioned to see a lot, and share a lot about helping kids to be successful students.
