Nutrition Expert - Heidi Boyd

Heidi Boyd

Heidi Boyd is a Registered Dietitian with a particular interest in nutrition for toddlers and school-aged children. As a Nutrition Educator with Dairy Farmers of Canada, she develops nutrition education programs and resources for teachers, health professionals, and consumers. Heidi also enjoys leading nutrition workshops for teachers and parents, to support them in their efforts to encourage healthy eating for children.

Heidi feels that food is an essential part of the fabric of our life and because of this fascination with food; Heidi completed a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry (Dietetics) at Memorial University in her home province of Newfoundland, followed by a pediatric nutrition internship in Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was in this position that Heidi spent much of her time working with infants, toddlers and their families, and has fond memories of tackling the world of the picky eater! After working in both public health and clinical nutrition, Heidi returned to the academic life and completed a Masters in Health Sciences (Community Nutrition) at the University of Toronto.

Heidi says she is excited to be part of the Canadian Parents Online Panel of Experts and looks forward to chatting with you!
