Camouflage Burgers |
My son will only eat peas and corn for veggies. This is how I sneak other veggies into his diet.
Ingredients
- 1 lb hamburger or other ground meat
- 1/2 a carrot finely grated
- chunk of sweet potato finely grated
- 1/2 cup oatmeal
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
Directions
I use a food processor for this recipe but it can be done manually. If using the processor, grate your carrot and sweet potato with the fine grating blade. Then switch to dough hooks. Add all other ingredients and whirl it up until well blended. This saves gooey hands and is so much quicker.
If using your manual method, grate your carrot and sweet potato with the fine side of the grater and add to this all the other ingredients in a bowl. Knead it up with your hands until really well blended. Form into burgers the size your kids will eat, cook and serve. I usually make up this recipe and freeze the burgers for quick and easy lunches and suppers. Individually wrap in plastic wrap and then pop them all into a freezer bag to prevent a frantic and irritaing search of the freezer later.
This is how I combat my picky eater. Power to the parents!!!
