Campfire S'mores

Campfire S'mores

By Darlene Hill

This is our favourite summer treat. We keep a plastic container filled with supplies so we can make them anytime.

Ingredients

  • Marshmallows
  • Graham crackers
  • Chocolate Bar

Materials

Campfire Stick (wood or metal)

Directions

  • Place a marshmallow on a stick and brown over hot campfire coals.
  • Place chocolate square on top of one graham cracker square. Place marshmallow on top of chocolate and cover with a second graham cracker square. Pull stick out and press crackers together until marshmallow starts to come out at the sides.
  • Enjoy!

I used this recipe over the weekend and it was great! I recommend using a milk chocolate bar that is thin so that the marshmallows melt the chocolate quicker.

I usually have some crackers with a square of milk chocolate warming by the fire so when the marshmallow is toasted, the chocolate is soft and the result is a fantastic ooey gooey mess/

I love smores! Another variation my SIL taught me is to melt the chocolate at home, spread on the graham crackers and then freeze. The chocolate is thinner this way and melts quite nicely. And, of course, I never make enough and use the original recipe everytime :)
