Chicken and Rice Delight

Chicken and Rice Delight This recipe is an alternative to jarred “meat and rice” meals. It is easy to prepare your own, and leftovers can be frozen and kept for a later date. Either brown or white rice can be used, depending on what you have available.

Ingredients

  • 1⁄2 cup  ( 125 mL)  diced cooked boneless skinless chicken
  • 1⁄4 cup (50 mL)  cooked brown rice
  • 1  peach, peeled and diced
  • 2 tbsp  (25 mL)  2% milk

Directions

  1. In a food processor or using a handheld blender, purée chicken, rice, peach and milk to desired texture.
  • Makes 3⁄4 cup (175 mL)
  • 6 to 8 months

Kitchen Tip

A ripe peach can be peeled and used raw in this recipe. For under-ripe peaches, simmer in a small amount of boiling water until tender.

Hi, I heard that it is not advisable for babies under 12 months to have cow's milk. Instead of the 2% milk, is it okay to use my baby's formula instead? Thanks
