This recipe is amazing! I made the cake for my father for his birthday (he couldn't eat traditional cake) and we were so happy with the results. I did find that my slow cooker (I used my moms so I am not sure what the brand was) was a bit hot so I found that I had to turn it to the warm setting sooner than the maximum time. A friend made it in her All-Clad Stainless Steel Slow Cooker and she said it was the best dessert she had ever made. So, if you know your slow cooker watch that it doesn't get too hot. A must try for sure!Helen

This is a signature recipe in our house. Everyone asks for it. I've been making it for years and often add marshmallows, skor bits, or other surprises to it.

Just curious if I could use fat-free sour cream (it happens to be what I have in my fridge right now)? Looks delicious, so I want to try it tomorrow night!

I have a question: I have this recipe in a cookbook. At the top of the recipe, it says cook 3 to 4 hours on low and 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours on high, but elsewhere in the recipe it gives the same times that you gave above. Which is correct? 6 to 8 hours seems like a long time!
