Easy German Chocolate Cake

By CPO Community Member

Easy and tasty.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. german chocolate cake mix Make this according to directions, using 2-- 9"round pans ( well lined)
  • Two cups of vanilla pudding ( I use the prepared pudding)
  • One can E.D. Smith cherry pie filling
  • One pint of real whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup sifted icing sugar
  • Milk chocolate.. shaved into curls and refrigerated
  • Maraschino cherries with stems. Well drained.

Directions

After the cakes are baked and cooled, slice each one in half (you will now have four layers.) Whip the cream till fluffy, and add the icing sugar right at the end. Blend in well.

You are now ready to build the cake: Spread half the can of cherry pie filling on the first layer. Add a layer of cake and spread that layer with the vanilla pudding. Add another cake layer. Spread the rest of the can of cherry pie filling on that layer Then put the last cake layer on the top and frost with the whipping cream/icing sugar. Then put the maraschino cherries on according to taste (or how many kids you have begging for them.) Then sprinkle on the chocolate curls. Place the cake in the fridge till ready to serve. Enjoy!
