Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast |
This is a favourite old stand-by in our house. Flavours from the roast and other ingredients combine to make a delcious gravy as it cooks in your slow cooker. I serve this with mashed potatoes and it really hits the spot!
Ingredients
1 blade or round beef roast
2 onions, quartered
1 small bag mini carrots
1 can golden cream of mushroom soup
1/2 pouch dry onion soup mix
1 cup water
Materials
Medium slow cookerSharp knife
Cutting board
Directions
1. Combine golden mushroom soup, dry soup mix, and water in a seperate bowl.
2. Place pot roast in slow cooker, sprinke with mini carrots and sliced onion.
3. Pour soup mixture on top, stirring slightly.
4. Close lid and cook on medium for approximatly 8 hours.

my slow cooker only has high and low...how long would this cook on low for (instead of medium)?

Dominque,Cooking this on low for the same amount of time should get the same result. My Slowcooker only has Low/High/Warm settings.

I made this recipe and added potatoes (sliced in half). I put them in first and the roast on top and followed the remaining directions. My slowcooker only has low/high/warm settings also and I used the low for approx 9 hours. It was delicious.

though I am sure this is very tasty ~ I am very much not a fan of spoiling a roast by adding preservatives etc.. that are contained in the dry soup mix and canned soup
