Excellent Barbeque Sauce |
I had to send in this recipe because I just used it this past weekend on some most excellent spare ribs. My 3-1/2 year old was inhaling ribs as fast as we would let him. He announced that I was the "bestest sauce making girl he ever knew!" So it **must** be a good recipe!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 T lemon juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
- 1-1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke (optional)
Directions
Combine everything in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Let simmer for about 20 minutes. Cool.
Use to baste meat during the last 10-15 minutes of broiling or barbequing. Keeps well in the fridge. Excellent on beef, pork, chicken.
Yields 1-3/4 cups.
