French Toast Berry Bake |

Ingredients
- 1 loaf Ciabatta bread (or any firm fresh bread)
- 6 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup evaporated milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup blueberries (frozen)
- 1 cup raspberries (frozen)
- 1 cup strawberries (frozen)
- 1 cup blackberries (frozen)
- 1/8 cup white sugar
- 1/8 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- cinnamon, to taste
- nutmeg, to taste
- 1/2 stick butter, cut into small chunks
Directions
The Night Before
- Coat a 9 by 13 inch pan with oil or cooking spray.
- Pour frozen berries into a large bowl and toss with 1/8 cup sugar (to coat).
- Cut Ciabatta bread into 1 inch chunks and place in bowl with berries. Gently toss with frozen berries and pour into prepared pan.
- In a medium bowl combine eggs, milk, evaporated milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Whisk until combined and pour over bread and berry mixture. Toss gently to coat mixture.
- Top with brown sugar and maple syrup.
- Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
In the Morning
- Top with maple syrup and chunks of butter. Bake at 350 degrees uncovered for approx. 40 minutes. The bread will be golden brown and the mixture custard like.
- Serve with warm maple syrup.

I'm a little confused about the maple syrup, do we put 1/8 of a cup as topping at night and then another 1/8 a cup in the morning? Or was there a typo and we're only supposed to put the maple syrup on in the morning? Thanks, this does sound great though!
