Grandma's Green Beans with Cream |
Great for those who like sauce on their mashed potatoes!
Ingredients
- Fresh Green Beans (enough for your family dinner)
- Table Cream (500ml)
- 1 Tsp Corn Starch
Directions
Cut ends off washed beans and cut to bite size. Boil beans till they are cooked. Drain water from Beans. Add 3/4 of the Table Cream in pot with Beans. Boil. Stirring Well. (Add salt and pepper to bring out the taste). Add Corn Starch to 1/4 Cream left in container and shake well. Pour Cream with Starch into the boiling Beans. (More salt and pepper will be needed to bring out the taste). Cream will boil again and thicken. Pour Beans with Cream over your mashed potatoes and eat!

I cook the green beans in chicken broth and add an onion cut up. In another pan I saute salt pork which has been cut into tiny pieces until they are golden brown add them to the beans and then add heavy cream. Mix together and serve over mashed potatoes. They are so yummy!!!
