Green Beans with Onions

By Community Recipe: Jill

If you are lucky (depending on the area of Canada you are living in) you will have a batch still in the garden. If not this is a great way to add some taste to some frozen or store bough fresh green beans.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans or 1 package (16 ounces) frozen whole green beans
  • 1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
  • 1 medium-size yellow onion (sliced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon each dried marjoram leaves and oregano leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

Directions

Cook beans (steam, boil, or whatever your preference is). In a frying pan heat oil, add onion, spices. Add beans and toss gently. Serve hot.
