Homemade Pizza

Homemade Pizza

By Catherine Robertson

Kids LOVE to help make homemade pizza! It’s fun, simple and you can control the healthiness of it by selecting the toppings. Plus, what pizza store do you know of that will do separate toppings to please the palette of each family member? There are no worries when you make your own, you’re in control!

Ingredients

For the crust:

  •
1 TBSP traditional yeast

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/2 cups flour

  • 1 ½ TBSP oil

  • dash of salt
Toppings:

  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup cheese of your choice, shredded
  • Your favourite toppings: mushrooms, pineapple, peppers, meats

Directions

1. In medium bowl combine warm water (do not make it hot or you will kill the yeast) yeast and sugar, give a quick stir.  Let rise for 10 minutes

2. After yeast has risen, add flour, oil and salt, mix well with mixer or by hand.  Let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.  Once done, roll out on a round pizza sheet.

3. Add your favorite pizza toppings and cook in 400 degree oven for about 20 minutes.
