Katelily's Shortbread |
You can leave them plain but we always decorate them with sprinkles. It's more fun for the children that way!
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup icing sugar
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 cups flour
Directions
Soften butter slightly. Stir in sugar, salt, and egg yolk. Add flour, a little at a time, until mixture is too stiff to work with the spoon. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut in desired shapes. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 15 minutes or until delicately brown.
Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
