Melting Moments Cookies |
Kids will love decorating these easy shortbread cookies to suit any holiday.
Ingredients
- 1 pound butter
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 3 cups flour
- chopped cherries or chocolate chips (optional)
Directions
Beat together butter and icing sugar. Add flour. You may add chocolate chips or chopped cherries but this is not necessary (although delicious and pretty!). Drop by spoonfuls on cookie sheet.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet at only 300°F for 20 minutes. Cool and decorate as desired.
Sugar Cookie Frosting
- 4 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 5 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- food coloring
Cream together sugar and shortening until smooth. Add milk, vanilla and beat with electric mixer until stiff and smooth. Add food colouring or leave white. Top with festive sprinkles.
