Memère's Tourtière |
This is my grandmother's recipe that has been passed down to me.
Moderator: The Christmas Club and Twins & Multiples
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb pork
- 1/2 lb each of 2 other kinds of ground meat (hamburger, venison, moose...)
- 1 cup fine cut onions
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/4 tsp clove
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp sage
- prepared pie shells (top and bottom)
Directions
- Cook everything in a pan don't over cook.
- Let cool before placing in pie crust otherwise your bottom crust will be soggy.
- Place in pie shell and cover with another.
- Bake in oven at 400 for about 40 -50 minutes until done.
