Memère's Tourtière

This is my grandmother's recipe that has been passed down to me.

Moderator: The Christmas Club and Twins & Multiples

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb pork
  • 1/2 lb each of 2 other kinds of ground meat (hamburger, venison, moose...)
  • 1 cup fine cut onions
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp clove
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp sage
  • prepared pie shells (top and bottom)

Directions

  1. Cook everything in a pan don't over cook.
  2. Let cool before placing in pie crust otherwise your bottom crust will be soggy.
  3. Place in pie shell and cover with another.
  4. Bake in oven at 400 for about 40 -50 minutes until done.
