Oatmeal Bread |
This recipe is my husband's favourite! (For use in a 1 1/2 pound loaf bread machine)
Ingredients
- 10 ounces (1 1/4 cups) milk [I use water]
- 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour [I use 2 cups flour and 1/2 cup 100% Bran cereal]
- 3/4 cup oats, quick or old-fashioned
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, cut into 4 pieces
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Bread Machine/ fast rise yeast.
Directions
For my husband, I add raisins and a touch of cinnamon. It's nice and spongy, quite light and very tasty. Cook on your standard cycle, according to the type of yeast.
