By Adrienne Puddicombe aka Momo3

A favourite in our family is this good old fashion corn chowder and fresh homemade bread..... you can use commercially frozen corn, or canned (even creamstyle)..but the best is fresh corn taken straight off the cob!

Ingredients

  • 2-inch cube salt pork diced small(new pillers ham bacon is good )
  • 1 onion,finely chopped
  • 4 med. potatoes,peeled and diced
  • 2 cups(1/2l) corn kernals(or two cans of creamstyle)
  • 3 cups of milk
  • 3 tablspoons butter
  • salt freshly ground pepper

Directions

Cook bacon and onion until browned add the potatoes and 3 cups of water, cover and cook until the potatoes are just tender. add the corn and milk cook for five more min. before serving add the butter, salt and pepper to taste... reheat. ( to make it more creamy take out some of the potatoes and broth, blend them and then put them back into pot.)
