Perfect Lemonade

Perfect Lemonade

By Joanna Dunkin

The key to making perfect lemonade every time is to use simple syrup, made by boiling together both water and sugar, then cooling. This completely dissolves the sugar and blends deliciously with the tart lemon.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Juice from 4-6 lemons
  • 4 cups cold water

Materials

  • Manual or electric juicer
  • Large pitcher

Directions

Bring 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar to a boil, stirring frequently. Let cool. This is your simple syrup.

Extract the lemon juice from lemons using a juicer. Pour lemon juice, simple syrup and remaining 4 cups of water into a large pitcher. Add ice and garnish with lemon slices if desired.
