Popcorn Balls

Popcorn Balls

Marshmallow molds popcorn into delicious bundles of confection. Let the mixture cool for a few minutes before you shape these fun Halloween treats!

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons cold water
  • 2 5/8 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 cup marshmallows
  • 5 quarts plain popped popcorn

Directions

1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the corn syrup, butter, cold water, confectioners’ sugar and marshmallows. Heat and stir until the mixture comes to a boil. Carefully combine the hot mixture with the popcorn, coating each kernel.

2. Let the mixture cool 1-2 minutes or until just cool enough to touch.  You don’t want to wait too long or the mixture will be hard to shape, but if you do it too quickly you may burn your hands.

3. Quickly shape the coated popcorn into balls before it cools.  Wrap with cellophane or plastic wrap and store at room temperature.
