Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos |
This versatile recipe can be used with traditional taco shells, warm flour tortillas or as the base for burritos, quesadillas and tostadas.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of boneless chicken thighs
- 1 jar of salsa
- 1/2 package taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 green pepper, diced
- hard taco shells or soft flour tortillas
- Toppings (sour cream, tomato, shredded cheese and lettuce)
Directions
1. Remove skin from chicken and place in bottom of slow cooker. Top with salsa, taco seasoning, onion, green peppers and water. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
2. Shred chicken and return to juices. Add additional water if too dry.
3. Spoon into warm taco shells or tortillas and top with your favourite toppings.
