This was a huge hit with my family! I made the tomato sauce mixture the evening before which was a big time saver! The recipe above calls for a smaller slow cooker than I made it in. I used my 6qt Versaware Pro Crockpot so I could saute the ground beef, onions and celery in the insert on my stove top. Substitution made: I was out of barbeque sauce so I used ketchup with a dash of brown sugar instead.

I make this every second week and the kids love it. You should see the smile on their faces when they walk in the door from school and smell what's cooking. Always a hit. And like Cara, I make the sauce the evening before, and when I know time will be really short in the mornig I brown the beef in advance too!!!

I made this on request from my husband, and although it was good, I don't think I will be making it on a regular basis. My toddler picked at it. I think it will be an "if we need a change and I have ground beef in the freezer", but that will be the closer I'll get to making it again.
