The Best Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies |
|
By Cara- Ladybug Mom
This is an all time favourite of mine and my kids. I like to make a sheet of cookies then freeze the dough into logs to make a quick batch when a cookie craving hits!
Ingredients
- 2 cups Flour
- 1 cup Rolled Oats
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Butter or Margarine (softened)
- 1 1/3 cups Packed Brown Sugar
- 2 Large Eggs
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 package of Chocolate Chips
Directions
- Preheat Oven to 325 F
- In a medium bowl mix together the dry ingredients, flour, oats, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
- In a larger bowl cream the butter using an electric mixer (this can be done by hand if the butter is softened first).
- Beat in the brown sugar until well blended.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time and add the vanilla.
- On a low speed mix in the flour mixture, stir in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough into desired cookie size onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake for approx 12-15 minutes. Remember oven temperatures can vary cook until lightly browned on the bottom. Let cool on the cookie sheet for a moment first before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
